Etsy Personal Best Tracker: Stop Comparing and Start Growing

When I was a kid, my parents made me do Little Athletics. Which is hilarious, because I am possibly the most uncoordinated,
clumsy human you’ll ever meet.
But one thing I remember clearly from that dark, dusty era is the idea of a PB - a personal best.
That’s why I created an Etsy personal best tracker — a simple way to measure progress that’s actually within your control.
You weren’t meant to compare yourself to the fastest kid on the track.
You were meant to compare yourself to you.
Your last run.
Your last jump .
Your last throw.
Beat that, and you were winning.
Somewhere along the way, we forget to apply that logic to our digital product businesses on Etsy.
Instead, we compare:
Our first month to someone else’s fifth year
Our single product to someone else’s full shop
Our quiet launch to someone else’s viral moment
And then we decide we’re “behind”.
But here’s the bigger problem - even when people do track progress, they’re usually tracking the wrong things.
They obsess over:
How many sales they get
How many followers they have
Revenue, without understanding what actually caused it
A true business PB isn’t about hitting an arbitrary number
someone else set. It looks more like:
How many products you created
A higher conversion rate than last month
One clearer niche decision than yesterday
More polished, clearer product images
That’s skill stacking.
And these are the things that live inside your circle of control. You can directly take action on them. Improve them. Strengthen them.
And quietly, consistently - these are the things that lead to more sales.
If you want to grow on Etsy without burning yourself out or constantly feeling behind, start tracking your PBs.
Not Ron’s.
Not Hermione’s.
Yours.
And in case you need it - here’s a PB tracker for your Etsy store.
