Not the Virality I Ordered: My Etsy Refund Policy Template Went Viral 😂

Over the Christmas break, something… unexpected happened.

One of my products went viral on Etsy went viral.

Which sounds exciting. Glamorous, even. Until I tell you how it went viral.

I sell an Etsy refund policy template for sellers

Over Christmas, I opened my inbox to 100+ messages from people who had bought random things on Etsy… mugs, jumpers, candles, who-knows-what… asking me how to return them.

They weren’t my customers. They hadn’t bought my product. They thought

I was Etsy.

Somewhere out there, a stressed Christmas shopper saw my listing and thought: “Ah yes. This is where refunds live.”

I even had a couple of people buy the template haha

So there I was, sipping a coffee, replying to messages like:

“I’m so sorry, I can’t help you return a toaster I’ve never seen before.”

Was it annoying? A little. Was it hilarious? Absolutely. Did I deactivate the

product? Yep 😅

Problem solved.

Lesson learned.

Inbox quiet again.
