Today I thought I would go through how I would break into the wall art niche as a new store!

When most people start off with digital products, the main place they start is with printable wall art as it’s creative and not that difficult to get into. The thing that I see most people struggling with is how to get sales in this niche and, before you panic – it is definitely possible to make sales in the wall art niche.

First, you need to know your market. Research is so important when tackling a high competition niche!

Here are some of the things you need to know:

Who is your target audience?

What are they currently looking for and purchasing?

What colors and styles are trending?

What sizes should you be offering and in what format?

What is the average sales price per product and for sets?

What are your competitors offering?

Do they give customers bonuses or gifts?

Currently, I see a few patterns in wall art. The first one is specifically talking to the audience with the title saying “xyz wall art for guys’ apartment” or “xyz wall art for pediatric clinic” or “Printable Wall Art Archery”. So call out your audience in your titles and remember to use the whole title space!

The next pattern I see in the wall art niche is sets of prints that match in style but are not the same thing – like these examples:

Another way to break into the wall art niche is to offer personalization of specific information in your prints. After all, a large portion of Etsy traffic are gift buyers, so offering personalization which might take you a few minutes to complete can really increase your sales. Here are a couple of personalized prints that are bestsellers as examples.

The wall art niche can be a fun niche to be in, as it allows you to run wild with creativity.

You just need to make sure your art is unique and is something that your ideal customers would like. So it is important to keep on top of interior design trends to ensure that you have products to suit upcoming colours and styles.

Happy creating 😍
