Here's something I told a student on my last coaching call that stopped a few people in their tracks.
When I find an Etsy trend, I never make just one product.
I make four or five.
Same trend, slightly different variations.
And here's what happens basically every time.
๐ One takes off.
โจ One sells steadily.
๐ข One or two are slow but tick along.
๐ฆ And one... nothing. Crickets.
Same trend. Same designer. Same week. Totally different results.
That's not a failure rate, that's the strategy.
Because I can't predict which variation will hit.
Nobody can.
The winner is often not the one I'd have bet on.
Why Creating Multiple Etsy Product Trends Works
Making multiples means I'm buying five lottery tickets on a draw I already know is hot, instead of one.
So if you made ONE product for an Etsy trend and it flopped, you didn't test the trend.
You tested one guess.
Go back and make the adjacent versions:
- Different colourway
- Different sub-niche
- Different format
- Different design variation
(Doing Australian postage stamps? Do the koalas and kangaroos too.)
One trend. Multiple shots.
Let Etsy tell you which one wins.
Big love,
Jessa ๐
